Retainers

THE IMPORTANCE OF WEARING RETAINERS

Now you have completed your treatment – Congratulations! – The next step is ‘retention’ which is very important. Wearing retainers will ensure your smile is always looking good!

We would still like to see you at regular intervals during the retention phase. This will allow us to monitor the stability of the teeth and make sure the retainers are doing their job properly. As the final result will be down to your retainers’ hard work.

There are a few to choose from and we will determine which best suits you with your treatment plan – there are clear removable retainers or traditional retainers or fixed bonded retainers.

  • Clear removable
  • Traditional retainers with metal wires
  • Fixed/bonded retainers that cannot be removed.

Make sure you keep your retainer in its case when it is not in your mouth!

Our team are happy to answer any questions you may have, we are here to help and advise.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WEARING RETAINERS

This is a very important job and essential! When you brush your teeth please take time to brush your retainer. You can use cool or lukewarm water. At least once a week you can soak your retainer in a denture cleaner or special retainer cleaner and then rinse with mouthwash.
